Laser Survey

Digital Analysis

Pre-machining survey of the job is done by probing and collecting 3D co-ordinates. These 3D co-ordinates are then manipulated in the software to determine the stock removal. To achieve crucial close tolerances alignment of the machine is done using the live ‘DRO’

(Digital Read Out) option available in the software.

Inspection of Components

Inspection of manufactured components is made easy by just importing CAD model of the component and then iteratively align it with the measured or actual component in the software. The deviation of the actual dimensions with the nominal dimensions can then be established.

Power

The introduction of LASER technologies measurement devices to power plants, production lines has greatly increased the accuracy of measurements.

We need to perform measurement at a tighter tolerance and at a faster pace.

Turbine blades needs faster, better and easier ways to inspect, for better production. Precision levels are high, at microns for measurements of an object 30m in size, which is a significant increase in accuracy for our products.

Steel

The largest- than life, nature of steel making would seem to believe a need for precision, it depends on tight dimensional tolerances. Using LASER technologies, plant makers still achieve sub-millimeter levels of accuracy.

Friction, vibrations, excess wear are potential devastating failures to mill stands can be found out by using laser technologies.

Flatness measurement is used to check the height of various measurement points in relation to its foundations.

Mining

Bulk Handling Machines such as Draglines, Reclaimers, Wagon Tippler etc… are very huge. Final assembly of these machines is done by putting together the fabricated parts.

Such critical assembly jobs includes inspection, machining & alignment.

Ship Building

LASER technologies improves measurements on NAVAL components.

The LASER technologies demonstrated full strength even with restrained available space on the ship.

Its ability to provide results in 3D rather than 2D was a huge advantage, and is something the navy also prefers.

The LASER tracker allows them to set all the angles (up and down, side to side) of the Advanced Gun System (AGS) within just a couple of thousands (0.002 degrees) These guns are massive- approximately 24 feet long and 30 feet wide. The guns ride on a bearing, and in order to check them they need to be able to hit a centre line with a measurement device.
